Inspired by my best friend, Brillo — this hat celebrates the joy, loyalty, and gentle presence of the animals who walk beside us. 

Whether you’re honouring a loyal dog, a curious cat, or any furry friend who’s padded alongside you through life, this hat is for you.

Worked top-down and in the round, this hat features a pinhole cast on, barely-there increases and a textured paw print motif embedded into a 1x1 folded brim. This hat is a gentle nod to the animals who bring us so much happiness.

Knit it in memory, in celebration, or simply in gratitude — a little tribute to the ones who wagged, purred and made life a little brighter.

Project Information

• 3mm knitting needles - double pointed needles or circular with 40cm cord. (or size required to get gauge)
• Providing gauge is met, please use any 4ply yarn of your choice. Sample uses 2 skeins Drops Nord - 4 Ply, 30% Polyamide, 25% Wool, 45% Alpaca, 170m per 50g (186 yards). Photograph uses shade: Fog.
• Notions: 3 stitch markers, darning needle, cable needle, scissors.
• Gauge: 30 stitches by 40 rounds to 10cm, using 3mm needles.
